Hamlock, Wiley, Chavez Jr., Tristao Jr. Find Victory Lane

Santa Maria Speedway opened up their gates to begin a busy Summer stretch of racing. Saturday's events featured cars from the past, to current. Vintage Sprint Cars and the Legends of Kerney Bowl debuted at the third-mile clay oval for the season alongside Dwarf Cars, Creations Coastal Financial Mini Stocks and IMCA Race Saver 305 Sprint Cars.

Vintage Sprint Cars and Legends of Kerney Bowl Sprint Cars brought back memories of the past as they hosted two heat races won by Mike James (Legends of Kerney Bowl) and Tobin Hamlock (Vintage Sprints). Hamlock went on to win the combined feature event.

Brandon Wiley picked up where he has left off and won the Dwarf Car heat race and feature event. The hometown favorite stood atop the podium with Chad and Troy Normile from Atascadero completing the top three.

Creations Coastal Financial Mini Stocks took the track with visiting Paul Chavez Jr (Santa Paula, CA.) and Kris Gilbertson scoring heat race victories. Daniel Campbell and David Dupuis led the field to the green flag for twenty laps. It wasn't long before Chavez found his way to the front of the field. Trailing him, current track points leader Justin Jackson took a back row challenge and advanced to a podium finish, trailing Chavez and Bob Dias across the finish line.

IMCA Race Saver 305 Sprint Cars visited the Coastal third-mild for their first visit in 2025. Current series points leader, Davey Pombo set a blistering pace in qualifying with a lap time of 12.990. Heat races saw Connon Danell and Anthony Pombo scoring wins. Tyler Henson and Kevin Barnes Sr. led the feature event to the green for thirty laps. It was not long before Davey Pombo found his way back to the front from a third place starting position. With a healthy lead, Davey found himself tangled with a spinning lapped car on lap twenty-one. George Tristao Jr. inherited the lead and held on to capture his first series win ahead of Kyle Rasmussen, Tylor Henson, Phil Heynen and Kevin Barnes Sr.
